broken heels and worn out shoes
delivered this child into the night air
rescued her there
the dancing sea foam
crashes below
onto the grey jagged rocks
bearing her shrill cry
the waves wash away the shallow sigh
sparkling jets of spray
make her new
in the darkness
a wild roar
the lioness pounds her paw
onto the soft sand
rips out the heart from her hand
maiming burden
devouring thieves
swallowing apathy
delightful fiends
warm blooded animal
fur and steed
takes up the child in her jaws
on the long journey home
to be met by the other sallow faced angels
met with humility and grace
met with their soft embrace
home
to the heart of love
